Lent Book Study
Love Your Enemies. But Who Are They?
Lent is a season of truth-telling.

This year we will read The Origin of Satan by Elaine Pagels and ask how Christians learned to divide the world into saints and devils — and what Jesus actually teaches about enemies.

This study will help us:
• Break the spell of enemy-creation
• Reclaim the complexity of scripture
• Re-center Jesus’ refusal to demonize

Because the church of Jesus does not survive by fear.
It lives by resurrection.

St. Luke and Me: Learning the Story we Pray

This Lent, we invite you to slow down and learn the story we pray. Each Sunday will focus on one part of the liturgy, followed by a forum that dives more deeply into where these elements come from, how they are rooted in Scripture, and how they shape us as the people of God.

This year, in keeping with our Year of Education, we invite you to consider learning as a holy practice. Perhaps instead of—or in addition to—giving something up, you might commit to showing up each Sunday to learn about the portions of liturgy that shape our lives together. Showing up comes in many forms from worship, to conversation, and to shared reflection as we renew and refresh ourselves on the journey toward Easter.

Wherever you are in your faith, you belong here.

Adult Education & Formation

At St. Luke, lifelong learning is a vital part of our faith journey. Forum@ is our take on adult forum, featuring engaging discussions on ELCA social statements, current events, social ministry, historical and literary contexts of scripture, and more.

We also offer a special Adult Confirmation Program alongside a Lutheran 101 Refresher, providing an opportunity to deepen your understanding of faith and theology.

On Tuesdays at 12:15 (except third Tuesdays) we gather in the Campus Ministry Lounge for a Bring Your Own Lunch Bible Studycovering the previous Sunday’s texts.

Additionally, throughout the year, the St. Luke Book Club meets to discuss many genres of literature.
