This year we are testing a new way of coordinating the faith and care. We have created a monthly Shepherd to organize all Faith and Care activities for the month (after services resume at St. Luke). The Shepherd for each month will be tasked with ensuring all of the volunteer slots have been filled for that given month. This means monitoring the sign-ups for your month and reaching out to people in person or via email or phone to fill slots that haven't been filled. The shepherd would also take it upon themselves to do unfilled jobs on the Sundays of their month. Finally, Shepherds would also find their replacement for the following year for that given month (or they can sign themselves back up).
To foster the changeover and to this new system and ease of sign-ups in general, we will have online sign-ups through Google Docs, as well as sign-ups at church.
We are currently looking to recruit Faith and Care Shepherds for the entire 2017-2018 year. Would this be something you would consider? Currently we have a Shepherds for September and February. We'd like to fill the rest of the slots as soon as possible so we'll have plenty of time to answer questions Shepherds may have, help teach all the shepherds how to use the Google Docs sign up, etc.
