Here at St. Luke, we like to kick off Lent with a big Shove Tuesday (aka: Fat Tuesday) Pancake Dinner! Please come celebrate and EAT! Then, stay for a fabulous New Orleans style Jazz Vespers service.
Shrove Tuesday- February 21
6:00 p.m. - Pancake dinner with homemade "fastnachts". Come mingle with new and old friends.
7:30 p.m. - Jazz Vespers
Ash Wednesday is Feb 22. St. Luke has worship services through out the day.
All Services for Ash Wednesday include the opportunity to receive ashes.
7:00 a.m. - A Spoken Service of Holy Communion (in the narthex).
12:15 p.m. - A Spoken Service of Holy Communion (in the nave).
7:00 p.m. - A Sung Service of Holy Communion (in the nave).
Evening Devotional Services - Wednesdays throughout Lent
February 28, March 7, 14, 21, 28
We gather to sing the order of Evening Prayer (Vespers) in the Evangelical Lutheran Worship book. The guided meditation will be upon the lessons in Lectio Divina style.
5:30 p.m. - Devotions
Holy Week Schedule will be posted as soon as possible.

A message from our Stewardship Committee:
One of the joys of working on this committee is recognizing all of the tasks that get done quietly at St. Luke. For example, do you know who spread the gravel on the sides of the driveway, or who folds the bulletins every week, or buys supplies for coffee hour? The Stewardship Committee plans to reveal some of these stewards as an inspiration for us all.
In order to discuss our role as stewards in 2012, the Stewardship Committee has arranged a catered luncheon on Sunday, October 30, after the worship service to which all are invited. Several members of the congregation will present their experiences of how St. Luke has woven them into the fabric of the church. November 13, will be Stewardship Sunday. We will ask everyone to make a commitment for 2012, based on each person’s sense of stewardship. Commitment cards will be mailed with the stewardship letter in October and the card may be placed in the offering plate, or mailed to St. Luke Church.
