Vespers at St. Luke

The traditional order for evening prayer, with musical masterworks integrated as psalmody, magnificats, and reflection.

Tuesday, September 22 7:30
Vespers Viennese style, with Mozart's Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, K. 339 offered by a chorus and orchestra from the Ithaca College School of Music, with faculty vocal soloists.

Tuesday, October 20 7:30
Vespers with music from the cradle of the Reformation; Bach's motet Jesu, meine Freude, and Germanic hymnody...in the Lutheran spirit, plenty for the congregation to sing.

Vespers featuring psalms and the expansive magnificat of French baroque composer Marc-Antoine Charpentier

Amahl and the Night Visitors by Gian-Carlo Menotti.

Vespers with contemporary music by Eric Whitacre for the Epiphany season, a magnificat by Arvo Pärt, and the world premiere of Michael Clarkson's setting of psalm 130.
